A range of pivoting disc / swing gate valves for sticky or difficult products in arduous environments, fitted with a pneumatic cylinder actuator for remote operation

The disc valve pneumatic actuator is designed for remote and reliable operation of pivoting disc valves used in demanding bulk material handling processes. It provides smooth, non-jamming performance even with sticky or abrasive products, making it suitable for food, pharmaceutical, chemical, and other industrial applications.

When paired with the Mucon disc valve, the pneumatic actuator ensures consistent sealing, long service life, and efficient material flow control in both high-pressure and high-temperature environments.

Applications for swing gate valves include:

  • Silo discharge valves for Heavy duty products such as cement powder, sand, limestone powder
  • Isolation valves between silos and screw conveyors
  • Valves for feeding reactor vessels (Two products react together)
  • Hot ash collection hoppers
  • Valves can be used in pairs for volumetric dosing into processes
  • Charging dense phase conveying blow pots

Construction:

Flanges drilled to BS4504 PN10- PCD & No. of holes only, not hole size

Three materials of construction including aluminum alloy, cast iron and stainless steel (stainless steel not available in 300mm bore)

  • There are no slide guides to jam or collect product
  • The shaft is the only item that passes through the body casting and is easily sealed using a proprietary seal assembly
  • A dovetail groove in the seating face locates another proprietary seal ensuring a dust tight closure of the swing gate valve
  • A range of bore sizes are available from 100mm to 300mm, with the outlet always larger than the inlet, ensuring no product hang-up points internally
  • In-situ seal wear adjustment
  • Three Purge Points are built into the valve body for ease of cleaning
  • 316 stainless steel contact parts
  • Open, Closed and adjustable intermediate switches
