Coperion showcases intelligent modernization solutions
Share
Düsseldorf, Germany: Coperion exhibited at the interpack Processing & Packaging tradeshow in Düsseldorf, Germany, May 7-13, 2026. The event is one of the three largest trade shows in the world for Coperion’s equipment and will serve as the global stage for the company’s “Powering Food, Health & Nutrition” portfolio.
Turning volatility into value
The show comes at a time when confectionery and baking manufacturers are navigating a convergence of pressures, including volatile raw material costs, workforce constraints and growing uncertainty around global trade and tariffs. According to Chris Isom, General Manager of Food, for Coperion Food, Health & Nutrition, the margin for operational inefficiency has narrowed considerably.
“The most urgent need is to protect throughput and quality with less labor: tighter process control, faster changeovers, and more hygienic, consistent operations,” Isom said.
For producers looking to stay ahead, Isom points to intelligent modernization as the defining differentiator. Rather than isolated equipment upgrades, leading companies are taking a holistic approach, such as investing in automation and integrated systems to raise product consistency, improve flexibility, and drive down total cost of ownership.
“The companies that profitably grow, will be the ones that modernize intelligently,” he added.
That perspective is echoed by Matt Craig, President of Coperion Food, Health & Nutrition. Craig notes that bakers are increasingly prioritizing technologies that deliver measurable gains in quality, labor efficiency and uptime – from automation and robotics to advanced mixing, material handling and software-driven process control.
“Strategically, that means building a roadmap around integrated automation and data: equipment that is easier to run, easier to maintain and generates the information needed for continuous improvement. And it means partnering with suppliers who can support the full lifecycle, from design and integration to modernization and service, so performance improves year after year,” Craig added.
A global stage for innovation
At interpack 2026, Coperion will highlight solutions that help confectionery and baking manufacturers modernize existing lines, improving quality and consistency while reducing labor dependency.
“Because customers are asking for better digital tools and more effective demonstrations when evaluating equipment, we’re building the interpack experience to make it easier to see the equipment in action and understand how it fits into a real production environment,” said Isom.
That commitment to accessibility and clarity will run throughout Coperion’s presence at interpack. Under the theme “Powering Food, Health & Nutrition,” Coperion and its associated brands – Baker Perkins, Bakon, DIOSNA, Gabler Engineering, K-Tron, Kemutec, Peerless, Shaffer, Shick Esteve, Unifiller and VMI – will showcase a comprehensive portfolio of cutting-edge processing solutions.
Planned demos include extrusion and feeding, baked goods end-processes, bakery and ingredient automation, depositing and confectionery. The company will also offer live Connect Advisor remote monitoring demos at its Aftermarket reception counter.
Visitors are invited to engage directly with Coperion’s experts to see its industry leading technologies in action at the company’s food-focused booth in hall 4, stand C23 and a health & nutrition booth in hall 16, stand C41.
