“Sustainability has become a critical priority for businesses across all industries, as companies seek to reduce their environmental footprint, promote ethical practices, and ensure responsible sourcing throughout their value chains.
Organizations like Ecovadis play a crucial role in promoting sustainability by providing independent, standardized assessments of corporate practices. Ecovadis evaluates companies across four key areas: Environment, Social & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. These evaluations help businesses benchmark their performance, identify areas for improvement, and ensure transparency throughout the value chain, ultimately driving higher standards across entire industries.
In 2026, Coperion’s technology brand VMI has once again been awarded the Ecovadis Silver label, placing it among the top 15% of companies assessed by Ecovadis. VMI has participated in Ecovadis evaluations since 2022, and each year the brand has made progress in its rating, reflecting continuous improvement in sustainability performance.
This recognition is not VMI’s first acknowledgment of its sustainability efforts. VMI has been committed to responsible development for many years, obtaining ISO 9001 certification in 1998 to ensure high-quality management systems and ISO 14001 certification in 2015 to formalize its environmental management practices. These milestones demonstrate VMI’s structured approach to managing quality and environmental impact.
While VMI has achieved strong results, there are still areas for improvement. For example, the company is working on communicating quantified greenhouse gas reduction targets, enhancing transparency and improving reporting on ethics and whistleblowing practices, and further strengthening responsible sourcing and supplier monitoring through thorough documentation and monitoring of indicators.
Receiving the Silver label in 2026 reflects VMI’s ongoing commitment to responsible business practices. The company continues to build on these improvements, aiming for the Ecovadis Gold medal, which recognizes the very best in corporate sustainability.”
