Inspiring a new generation of UK students to pursue careers in food manufacturing
Share
In February 2026, Coperion Food, Health and Nutrition teams delighted to welcome seven local schools and more than 100 students to our Baker Perkins facility. The visit offered students a unique opportunity to step inside a real manufacturing environment and discover what a career in the industry can look like.
Throughout the week, students toured the site and spoke directly with our current apprentices, gaining honest, first-hand insight into daily life in an apprenticeship. The tours were led by our Operations Managers, many of whom began their own careers as apprentices. By sharing their personal journeys and professional growth, they demonstrated the long-term opportunities and progression that manufacturing can offer.
We are incredibly proud of our apprentices who spoke so openly and enthusiastically about their experiences. Their passion and commitment made a lasting impression on our visitors. Supporting young talent and showcasing the exciting pathways available in manufacturing remains a key part of our commitment to building the future of our industry.
