Coperion: Unifying Expertise for the Baking Industry
Share
Kansas City, April 2025 – Coperion’s Food, Health & Nutrition (FHN) division has expanded significantly in recent years through strategic acquisitions, bringing trusted brands such as Bakon, Baker Perkins, DIOSNA, Kemutec, Peerless, Shaffer, Shick Esteve, Unifiller, and VMI under one umbrella. These brands were chosen for their proven track records in the baking, food, and pet food sectors, each offering highly specialized expertise. Now unified, they provide an end-to-end solution for production needs across multiple product categories.
“In the past year, we’ve been working diligently with not only integration but also transformation,” said Matt Craig, President of Coperion. “This has allowed us to focus on our food markets – with bakers being a major focus.”
By consolidating and organizing the technologies across three core business units: Systems and ingredient automation; Fermentation, mixing, forming, dividing, and baking; and Dosing, depositing, decorating, cutting, and spraying. Coperion FHN helps bakeries tackle some of the most complex challenges in today’s market.
- Streamlined Operations Bakers can partner with one entity, rather than multiple suppliers, to access everything from automated ingredient handling through to precise depositing solutions.
- Improved Workforce Efficiency: Robust, advanced equipment integrated into efficient systems with seamless controls can reduce manual processes and lessen the strain on staff.
- Faster Time to Market: By drawing on the specialized expertise of each brand, bakery operations can be scaled or adapted quickly to accommodate new product lines or higher output demands.
“I don’t believe there’s anywhere else in the industry where bakers will find the breadth of knowledge that we now hold as a unified group,” said Blake Day, VP and General Manager for Coperion. “Whether it’s ingredient handling, mixing and dough feeding, or precise depositing and cutting, we possess a high level of inherent knowledge that our customers will greatly benefit from.”
This single-source approach gives commercial baking operators a single point of accountability for projects that involve everything from engineering and manufacturing to installation, training, and service. By uniting all the brands, Coperion FHN ensures seamless communication across teams that regularly collaborate on large, complex integrations.
Coperion FHN plans to showcase their systems and equipment integrations at major industry events in 2025, including iba (Hall 12, Stand A41 & A51, May 18-22 in Düsseldorf, Germany) and the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) (West Hall, September 13-17 in Las Vegas). Attendees will see how unified technology, expert teams, and a global support network can empower their operations worldwide.
